.Professional Profile:
Before she was an attorney, Corinne A. Tampas was one of the few women to be licensed as a general building contractor in California in 1980. She built residential developments and office condominium projects prior to attending law school at Golden Gate University. At Golden Gate University, Tampas was enrolled in a joint degree program with the School of Law and the School of Tax, receiving a combination JD/MS (Tax) degree. She also has a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree from San Francisco State University.
After graduation, Tampas practiced law in the areas of bankruptcy, taxation, and homeowners associations as a sole practitioner, and then worked in a plaintiff's medical malpractice law firm. She later opened a nationwide legal research and writing practice, describing herself as an "onshore outsource attorney" on "What's Your Authority?" and accepting only attorneys as clients in legal matters (though she also accepts tax professionals as clients on taxation issues). Tampas is also reopening her private law practice in Philadelphia, where she will concentrate in bankruptcy, taxation, and legal issues for small businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners associations, and commercial property owners associations.
Tampas was one of the first lawyers in the country to adopt page-flip technology for the use in her law practice newsletter, A More Definitive Statement. She maintains a blog at CorinneTampas.com, and her legal research and writing business website is "What's Your Authority?".
